PRINCIPAL CONDUCTOR
Kelvin Bryant assumed this role in September 2020 having previously sung with the Choir as Chorister, Second Tenor. Kelvin's musical experience is extensive and varied including nearly forty years with the Armed Forces playing Clarinet throughout Europe as well as America, Canada and the Far East. He has performed at Buckingham Palace and the British Embassy in Washington, USA. Kelvin has sung in a variety of Choirs and Drama Groups and also plays the Cornet. He plays and is deputy Conductor with the Sturminster Newton Orchestra.
DEPUTY CONDUCTOR
R.I.P Alan Beach. was one of our three Co-Founders and was previously our Musical Director until mid 2018. When not deputising as Conductor Alan sang with the Choir as Chorister, Second Tenor. Alan had a long and interesting career in the music industry ranging from singing at the Queen’s Coronation in 1953 with Eton College Choir School, singing professionally with a Group named “The Countrymen”, being Chorus Master and later Musical Director for “My Fair Lady” at the London Palladium and he was also a Guitarist.
He did so much in promoting the choir in the in the early years to the present day .
Alan was a very freindy,sociable and knowledgable man and unforgetable to everyone he met , he will be greatly missed by all his freinds and family.
ACCOMPANIST
Born into a family of musicians, Shirley Bragg, our talented Accompanist, developed a keen interest in music from an early age. She studied Music at York University and a PhD at Exeter University. At home in music and theatre, Shirley has both performed and conducted internationally in Kenya and Brazil. Shirley and her family returned to the UK in 2003 for her to become the Director of Music at Clayesmore Prep School in Dorset. Mostly recently, she directed and choreographed a musical based on the Resurrection Rock song cycle by Shelia Wilson.
